After years of drooling I finally broke down and got myself a Cuttlebug and a few embossing folders last year. I was hooked immediately, I just LOVE the extra POP! that a little texture can bring to a card or layout. Myself and fellow consultants have had embossing folders on our CTMH wish-list for ages now. With the launch of the new Spring/Summer 2014 idea book I was so happy to see the CTMH lineup of folders....and even happier to see that they are the nice 5x7 size (with the slit on top!)....And the icing on the cake is that CTMH is introducing this new-to-us product with a WONDERFUL chance to get one or all of them for FREE!!!!
As you are probably aware, CTMH's 40 beautiful colors of cardstock are white core....and if you have ever done any embossing you are also aware of the challenges that can present themselves when embossing on white-core cardstock. In the CTMH video below you will find several tips & tricks for making them work together.
It's about darn time but I am finally scrapping again! I created the layout below for the Texas Bluebonnet Scrappers Consultant retreat last weekend (times 20!!!) It was SOOO worth it because in the end I came home with 12 completed layouts (created by my amazingly talented sister consultants) which showcase ALL of the paper packs offered in the Spring/Summer 2014 idea book. For my layout I was assigned the Sarita paper pack. I chose to use one of our new embossing folders to show that they are for much more than just making cards. I of course finished this layout BEFORE I watched the video above or I might have chosen to use their tip regarding how to prevent cracking on white-core cardstock (SERIOUSLY, go watch the video NOW!!).....but I really like the way the cracking mimicks the Sarita B&T paper in the background....with no extra sanding required.
